Dubai Trip Plan : 5 Days In 10 Pictures

We visited Dubai for five days from March 27 to March 31 2024. We planned tye entire trip ourselves and did not go through any travels. It was truly a fruitful experience as we got to see all the places such as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Underwater aquarium/Zoo, Global Village, Miracle Garden, Dubai Frame, Dubai Dolphinarium, Creek park bird show, Future Museum, Kite beach, Dubai Marina beach, Yacht ride experience around the Dubai marina.

Below is the detailed plan,

Flight tickets:
Try to book the flight tickets at the earliest possible time, at least two months before. To book with Emirates, please check out Emirates.com. Other websites like Sky Scanner, Expedia, makemytrip, goibibo etc will be helpful as well. Some of the notable airlines to Dubai include Emirates, Indigo, Etihad, Air Arabia, etc. It costed 1.27 lakhs for five persons with Emirates for us — including both to and fro tickets from Chennai.

Visa:
Akbartravels.com will be very helpful for booking a visa. They charge nominally, and they respond quickly as well. We spent 39,000 rupees totally(five persons) for UAE’s two-week visit visa.

Hotel:
We can book a hotel through Booking.com. It is prudent to book a hotel in places such as Deira or Bur Dubai, as the cost is not high here and is within the city limits. We booked a hotel called Alkhoory Sky Garden in Deira and it costed 98,000 rupees for five people for five days along with breakfast. Note: we had to book three rooms as they did not allow to book two rooms and avail extra bed.

Currency Exchange:

We did currency change (INR to Dirams) for about one lakh Indian rupees and got 4200 Dirams. Note: Please do not do currency exchange at the airport as it is costlier, they will charge 10 to 12 percent extra when compared to other places.

Must visit places:

You should definitely visit as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Underwater aquarium/Zoo, Global Village, Miracle Garden, Dubai Frame, Dubai Dolphinarium, Creek park bird show, Future Museum, Kite beach, Dubai Marina beach, Yacht ride experience around the Dubai marina, Desert Safari and the Palm Jumeirah beach, Water ride experiences around the Palm Jumeirah beach. Note: It is better to visit hotter places by evening and the indoor places such as the Dubai Dolphinarium by morning to avoid the scorching heat in Dubai — if you are travelling between May to Sep. Desert Safari and the Yacht ride would be nice to experience by evening.

Best Time To Visit:

October to April would be the best time to visit Dubai as the climate will be really good during this period — It will not be hot and humid by this time. May to September will be the off-peak season, but yes the cost will be comparatively lower than travelling during peak season.

Restaurants:
You will be able to find good Indian restaurants in Bur Dubai and Al Nahda. You can either dine in or buy takeaway as well.

Food App:
To order food, we can use an app called Noon.

Transport App:

For internal transport within Dubai, you can book cabs through app called Careem. Uber is also available in Dubai. Commuting through metro will be comparatively affordable as you can buy a nol card which offers metro rides with steeply subsidized prices.

Events App:
To book entry tickets related to the places, we can make use of the app called Klook, which will have multiple offers as well. For booking tickets related to Future Museum and Dubai Dolphinarium alone, you need to do so directly on their websites. For the Future Museum and Burj Khalifa top view from either the 124th floor or 154th floor alone, you need to book tickets at least a month in advance, as the availability of tickets is very limited here and the price will be lowered if booked before a month. For all the other places such as the Miracle Garden, Global Village, you can book the tickets and the day of visit is flexible, you can visit on any day as per your availability within a month.

Shopping places:
To buy chocolates and souvenirs, Carrefour, Nesto and Lulu are the best supermarkets. Carrefour will have products at a lower price and good quality as well when compared to Lulu and Nesto. Gold Souk has plenty of India based Jewellery shops such as the Malabar GoldJoy Alukkas etc; usually, gold will have a lower price in Dubai as compared to other countries as there is no GST on gold in Dubai. You need to provide the soft copy of your passport to buy gold there at the gold souk. Please collect the bill copy and you can claim the VAT refund at the airport using it.

Spice Souk is a vividly coloured place where you can buy Saffron, rose water, cinnamon sticks, and different varieties of tea such as hibiscus, lavender, etc. We bought some gold from Joy Alukkas, dates stuff filled chocolates and souvenirs such as the handbags, magnetic souvenirs etc from Carrefour. Note: You can claim VAT refund for the souvenirs and chocolates as well at the airport using the bill copy.
