The Sleep Rule: 10-3-2-1-0

Getting good quality slumber of 78 hours a day is fundamental for any human, according to the National Sleep Foundation. There are two types of people: early birds and Night owls. Early birds hit the bed early and wake up early in the morning. Night owls, on the other hand, sleep late and wake up late. Be it any type, it is pivotal to have 7–8 hours of sleep. We need to adhere to certain habits before we hit bed every day to ensure that our circadian rhythm is not disturbed and is intact. Eating late at night, drinking coffee, drinking alcohol and having screen time before bed can cause poor sleep, thereby causing a vicious circle.

Please follow the below sleep rule and regulate your activities for a better slumber,

10 hours before bed: cut out caffeine

3 hours before bed: No more alcohol or food

2 hours before bed: No more work

1 hour before bed: No more screen time/gadgets.

0: times you hit the snooze button in the morning.

Few other tips to have optimal sleep would be to read a book, have a cool bedroom, and dark bedroom as well. Having a warm bath would also be prudent.
